Mairi has an MA in Creative Writing from Edinburgh Napier University. Her début novel, Self Help for Serial Killers (longlisted for the Crime Writers Association’s Début Dagger 2019, and a finalist in the Amazon Publishing New Voices Award 2021). She is currently finishing her second novel, Hush Now, Dear, and researching her third and fourth, Good for Her, and What Maddie Did Next.

Her sold out book of poetry, This is a Poem, was published by Burning Eye Books. She was the writer in residence for Fearlessly Magazine and her writing has appeared in magazines, newspapers and anthologies. She has performed widely including at the Glastonbury Festival, and once won a prize at a Halloween poetry slam for scariest poem; about medication side effect lists.
